What’s the best Teqball table?

There are currently 4 Teqball tables available to buy:

  • Teq X
  • Teq LITE
  • Teq ONE
  • Teq SMART

And the best one for you will generally depend on your budget, where you’ll be using it, and how often you need to move it around.

I haven’t included the Teq X on this list at the moment as the Teq LITE is just better in every way and it’s currently cheaper anyway – but if the prices change I’ll add it on.

Here’s a quick summary:

Best value for money: Teq LITE

Overall best: Teq SMART

Best for public spaces: Teq ONE

And don’t forget to pick up your Teqball Ball while you’re here. You can play with a standard football but the Teqball Ball is specially designed for Teqball as it’s more bouncy.

Teq LITE

The Teq Lite is currently the cheapest table, and the easiest way to start playing Teqball at home.

It’s also very practical as it’s on wheels and foldable, and only weighs 85kg – the perfect entry level Teqball table.

  • Pros
  • Affordable
  • Practical
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Cons
  • Not suitable for public spaces (can’t be bolted down)
  • Not as durable as the Teq Smart
  • Lesser playing quality compared to the Teq Smart

The TeQ LITE is currently on sale directly from the Teq store which is the cheapest option.

But if the sale ends, Decathlon is usually the next cheapest retailer.

Teq SMART

The Teq SMART is the highest quality table available at the moment.

It’s constructed with the highest quality materials (high pressure laminate table top, plexiglass net and steel legs), but it’s also foldable and on wheels for practicality.

The downsides?

It’s expensive.

And it’s heavy: at 168kg it weighs almost twice as much as the Teq LITE.

  • Pros
  • Excellent playing quality
  • Very durable
  • Practical and portable
  • Cons
  • Not suitable for public spaces (can’t be bolted down)
  • Very heavy
  • Expensive!

Decathlon is usually the cheapest retailer to buy the Teq SMART from.

Teq ONE

Finally, the Teq ONE is the best table for public spaces because it can be bolted to the ground.

Like you see with table tennis tables, the Teq ONE is a great community sport that anyone can pick up and play – so they’re great features to install in parks, schools and other community spaces.

I wouldn’t recommend this table for home use as it can’t fold, it’s not on wheels and it’s heavy…

  • Pros
  • Can be bolted to the ground
  • Excellent playing quality
  • Very durable
  • Cons
  • Not foldable
  • No wheels
  • Expensive

Decathlon is usually the cheapest retailer to buy the Teq ONE from.

What is Teqball?

Teqball is a sport that combines elements of football and table tennis. It’s played on a specially designed curved table with a custom, bouncy Teq ball.

Players can only use their feet, legs, chest, and head to control the ball (no arms and hands).

Teqball can be played either one-on-one or in teams of two or four players.

The aim of the game is to hit the ball over the net and onto the opponent’s side of the table without allowing them to return it.

The game is won when one team reaches a predetermined number of points, typically 12.

History of Teqball

Teqball was invented in 2012 by Hungarian football player Gábor Borsányi and businessman Viktor Huszár.

The two were looking for a new way to train and stay fit during the off-season and decided to combine elements of football and table tennis.

The first Teqball table was created in Borsányi’s garage and the sport quickly gained popularity in Hungary.

In 2017, the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) was founded with the goal of promoting and governing the sport worldwide.

Today, Teqball is played in over 60 countries and has become a popular way for football / soccer players to improve their skills and fitness.

Many national football / soccer teams play Teqball to train their first touch, volleying and heading skills.

How to Play Teqball

To play Teqball, you’ll need a Teqball table and a Teqball Ball.

You can play on a table tennis table too, but the quality of play isn’t as good because the ball tends to double bounce on the table.

The table is curved with a net in the middle that separates the two sides.

Players can use any part of their body except their hands and arms to control the ball and must hit it over the net and onto the opponent’s side without letting it touch the table or ground.

The Rules of Teqball

Here are the rules of Teqball:

  • Maximum of 3 touches.
  • In doubles, maximum of 3 touches is allowed per team, and teammates must pass the ball at least once to each other.
  • The official and recommended ball size for Teqball is size five – the same ball used in football.
  • Teqball can be played as a singles game with two players or a doubles game with four players.
  • A Teqball match consists of the best of 3 sets
  • Each set is won by the player/team that reaches 12 points first.
  • Players/teams are allowed two attempts to successfully serve the ball (fault, double fault).
  • After every four points, switch servers
  • You can’t touch the ball twice consecutively with the same body part.
  • You can touch the ball with any body part, except for the hands and arms
  • During play, touching the table or your opponent is forbidden.
  • If an edgeball occurs, the rally must be repeated.

Here are the full and official Teqball rules.

Teqball Equipment

To play Teqball, you’ll need a Teqball table and a small, rubber ball. The table is specially designed to be curved and resemble a small soccer net. The net in the middle separates the two sides.

The Health Benefits of Teqball

Teqball is a great way to improve your fitness and coordination.

Because it involves using multiple parts of your body to control the ball, it can be a challenging workout that will get your heart pumping.

It’s also great for balance and agility, which can be useful in other sports and activities.

The Popularity of Teqball Around the World

Teqball is gaining popularity around the world, particularly among football players and fans.

It has been endorsed by several professional football players, including Ronaldinho, Neymar Jr., and Antoine Griezmann. There are now Teqball clubs and competitions in countries around the world, including Hungary, Brazil, and Malaysia.

Teqball Competitions

There are several Teqball competitions held around the world, including the Teqball World Cup and the Teqball Masters.

These events attract some of the best Teqball players from around the world and offer a chance for players to compete for prizes and bragging rights.

How to Get Involved in Teqball

If you’re interested in trying Teqball, the first step is to find a Teqball club or organisation in your area.

Many clubs offer beginner lessons and equipment rental, so you can try the sport before investing in your own equipment.

You can also purchase Teqball tables and balls online if you want to practise at home.

Teqball Training Tips

One of the best Teqball training drills is playing football against a wall and practising volleying and controlling the ball without it bouncing.

You don’t need a Teqball table for this and can do it anywhere, and it trains the same skills you’ll need in Teqball.
